About Ohio Family and Children First

OFCF, founded in 1993, is a partnership of state and local government, communities and families that enhances the well-being of Ohio’s children and families by building community capacity, coordinating systems and services, and engaging and empowering families. OFCF Cabinet Council is comprised of the following state agencies: Aging, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, Developmental Disabilities, Education, Health, Job and Family Services, Mental Health, Rehabilitation and Correction, Youth Services, Office of Budget and Management, and the Rehabilitation Services Commission.

OFCF began efforts to strengthen family engagement in 2008 by exploring the possibility of creating a network for family engagement. Those efforts led to the creation of the OFCF Family Engagement Steering Committee in 2009. One of the strategies the committee began working on was developing a website for parents and professionals that would contain valuable and informative resources and network parents and professionals to available supports. The committee identified that the Ronald McDonald House had similar goals with their existing website, so in 2011, OFCF and the Ronald McDonald House combined in order to propel a broader, stronger resource for families, young adults, and professionals statewide.

OFCF would like to thank all the parents, caregivers, and the following organizations for lending representatives to help create, support and assist in the development of Red Treehouse.org.
